Just a reminder that WFC and Project healing Waters will be hosting an outing to Walker Jenkins Lake Sunday, the 21st of May. This body of water is 60 miles from Casper. We will meet at 0815 AM at the parking lot at the Robertson Road river access area. We will leave at 0830. Walker Jenkins Lake is an interesting area. Formerly, it was a uranium open-pit mine. As such, it is quite deep, but most fishing is done close to shore as the trout (rainbows and cutthroats) cruise continually along the shore looking for food. Often, one can spot them and cast to where they will be with both surface and subsurface flies. This year, everyone will be responsible for bringing their own lunch, but some non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. No trees are in this sagebrush-dominated part of Wyoming, therefore no shade, so bring sun protection. We usually have enough people driving that one can leave their vehicles at Robertson Road. If inclement weather should threaten, call 247-1463 for updates about the trip.
